Oops. I’m a little late for my quote this week.
Thought this was a good one….
If the wind will not serve,
take to the oars.
Destitutus ventis, remos adhibe
- Latin Proverb
Have a fantabulous week everybody!!

Hi Selma,
Great photos, nothing like being out on the water on a beautiful day.
Love the quote, and lets face it, that is very true.
It is so true, Mags. In more ways than one. And what a workout rowing is. You should see the arms on that rowing squad. Buff to the max!
Oooh! I like that one too! Life is intended to be about interaction, not a passive state! We have to be willing to do what is necessary to make it possible for good things to happen!
YES, JOSIE. *jumping up and down in agreement* I couldn’t say A to the MEN any more!!!!
tardy but understandable..Beautiful pictures,great quote!
I am sometimes tardy, sirrah. I am working to improve……haha. Glad you liked the quote!!!
Good one! Carry on all of us!
Yes, JEN. Carry us all. I love that!!!
Selma, that’s a wonderful quote with some great photos!
Thanks, Susan. I like a bit of Latin wisdom every now and then
Great quote. It made me think of a sailing ship being towed by its crew, rowing the longboat to give them something to do in the doldrums.
The weather (except for yesterday) has been perfect! Eat your heart out, Gabrielle!
Now now. We won’t have any Sydney – Queensland weather rivalry here, Stafford
But I suppose it’s one of the few points of difference we have left now that our states are being crushed in similar ways by the Newman/O’Farrell demagogue machine. No choice but to just keep rowing…..
ahem – I command the bad weather to go forwith to Stafford’s boat and surroundings and thus commence a blustering wind buffetting thingy – and the weather she did listen
Indeed a fine quote to remind us of our part in controling our own fate.
Yes. I am the captain of my fate. Sailing the SS Destiny to the land of hopes and dreams. Or something like that, slpmartin. Haha
Great advice in this one.
And so good for the upper arms, Patti. Haha. xx
Lots of oars around here.
Nothing like an oar plunging through the water, Squirrel. No choice but to be moved forward.
Great photos and advice. I hope you have a fantabulous week week as well.
You too, David. So nice to see you ♥
YES!!!!! I love this. Thanks for sharing it.
It’s quite an inspirational quote for me and fits in with my current philosophy of not giving up. And of course, I love boats and the sea. All round winner!
No point sitting on our laurels – may as well row
another great quote Selma (hope that wind just sticks to Stafford’s boat and doesn’t bother your part of town – haha)
Haha. I think it is a bit choppier where Stafford is, Gabe. He’s probably had a bit of rain too. LOL.
That’s excellent advice,
Juliet

The wisdom of the ancients, Juliet. You can’t beat it!
Good, practical advice
And never sit in the front of a double kayak, hehe
Oh yes. That is very important to remember, Bluebee *giggle*
Great quote to live one’s life by.
So many great quotes out there, Roshan. I could go on about them all day!!
I love this philosophy. Never give up, never say die. Do what ya gotta do but do it. Noone said it would be easy and if it doesn’t work one way, we try another. That is what life is, or should be, about!
You can’t give up. A lot of the time I feel like giving up, but seriously, what does that mean? Sitting in a corner rocking back and forth for ever. Not a good look. Just keep rowing….
