Take My Breath Away

Another quote to keep me going this week.

All this quoting seems to be helping…..

In the end, it’s not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

  1. Hi Selma,
Very good quote as well, and very true. :)

  2. One of my favorites! And a reminder to live in the moment.

    • Oh yeah, Jen. Spot on with that one. Living in the moment is so important, but often is hard to do. One of my faves too!

  3. A very good way to start the week, so true!

  5. I was outside and the dust & pollen made me start to sneeze and get an onslaught of asthma – truly took my breath away!!

  6. How absolutely true. Thanks, let me try to live my week with that in my head. :)

  7. I don’t know how I’d have got through my life without quotes to inspire….thanks for posting some of your favourites. Here is one of mine:

“To laugh often and love much, to win the respect of intelligent persons and
the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give one’s self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived – this is to have succeeded.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson(1803-1882) American essayist and poet

    • I completely agree, Anne, the wisdom of others often pulls us out of slumps and acts as a catalyst. Fantastic quote by Emerson. Just abouy everything he said was quotable. One of my favourites!

  8. best. quote. ever. SERIOUSLY.

  9. quality not quantity :) love your quotes Selma.

  10. Yes – that would be a life well lived

  11. Beautiful and profound quote.

  12. For those of you who love the power of blogging please click on the pingback above which goes to Benedicte’s blog. You won’t believe the beautiful artwork that has arisen from this quote. I love it!

  13. I really like your quotes each week. We all need the positive in our lives and sometimes we need a reminder to stop and appreciate all that is around us instead of being cynical and jaded. It’s easier and takes less energy to be positive than negative.

    • That is a really crucial point, Cathy. It DOES use up so much energy to be negative. It’s exhausting, really. Much easier to turn that frown upside down
